Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for full-time, permanent Specialty Doctor posts in Emergency Medicine, working across Poole Hospital and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

The successful candidate will be a Senior Decision Maker (SDM) within the Emergency Department, responsible for complex clinical decisions, supervision of junior staff, and leading the department during night shifts when no consultant is present.

Qualifications

• Senior Decision Maker in Emergency Department
• Supervision of junior staff
• Participation in CESR programmes and teaching
• Rota responsibilities including night shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide timely assessment, diagnosis, treatment and resuscitation of emergency patients
• Lead department during night shifts when consultants are unavailable
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and students
• Contribute to teaching, governance, audits and CPD
• Participate in 24/7 emergency care rota across Poole and RBH
