Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for full-time, permanent Specialty Doctor posts in Emergency Medicine, working across Poole Hospital and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

The successful candidate will be a Senior Decision Maker within the Emergency Department, responsible for complex clinical decisions, supervision of junior staff, and leading the department during night shifts when no consultant is present.

Qualifications

• Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine with SDM responsibilities.
• Experience in supervising junior staff and leading ED teams.
• Eligible for CESR training and development within a NHS trust.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely assessment, diagnosis, treatment, resuscitation and stabilisation of emergency patients.
• Lead the department during night shifts when no consultant is present.
• Supervise junior doctors and contribute to teaching, audits and CPD.
• Participate in 24/7 rota and out-of-hours work as required.
