Job summary

NHS Forth Valley is seeking a Senior Advanced Practitioner in the Emergency Department. The post offers a training pathway under Annex 21 to Band 8A, with progression to lead complex emergency presentations and autonomous clinical decisions.

The role includes education and support for ED staff, admission of acutely unwell patients, and development across non-clinical pillars such as evidence and leadership. Interviews on 28/10/2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in ED and autonomous role at level 7 transitioning to Band 8A.
• Advanced practice experience as an ANP/ACP or ENP.
• Completion of HEI accredited clinical courses.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex emergency presentations with autonomous assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Provide direct clinical management and supervise ED team members.
• Support education and development within the ED and broader service.
