Job summary

The Portland Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, is seeking a Senior Embryologist to join its Fertility team at London’s Portland Hospital. You will work within a world‑class Embryology Laboratory, performing advanced IVF/ICSI procedures, mentoring junior staff and helping drive service development in a leading private fertility service.

Based in a technologically advanced facility, you will ensure regulatory compliance, quality standards and expert patient care while contributing to ongoing

Qualifications

• HCPC registered, biopsy‑trained Clinical Scientist with extensive embryology experience
• Significant experience working within a licensed IVF laboratory environment
• Demonstrable competency in advanced embryology techniques including ICSI and cryopreservation
• Comprehensive knowledge of HFEA regulations, quality management systems and laboratory governance
• Excellent communication, organisational and teamworking skills with the ability to support and mentor colleagues

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of advanced embryology procedures including IVF, ICSI, embryo culture, embryo transfer support and cryopreservation techniques
• Ensure laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with HFEA regulations, quality management systems and professional standards
• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and contribute to quality assurance and audit activities
• Support and supervise junior embryologists, providing training and guidance where required
• Participate in service improvement initiatives, research activities and the ongoing development of laboratory practices
