Job summary

DCS Technology in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to develop safety-critical platforms for autonomous systems. You will design and implement software for DO-178C and ISO 26262 compliant environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

The role focuses on runtime assurance, real-time embedded systems and certifiable software for aerospace, defence or autonomous applications, with a flexible hybrid work pattern and high-integrity software

Qualifications

• Embedded software engineering background
• C, C++, Ada or similar languages
• Experience in safety-critical environments
• High-integrity software development processes
• Real-time and embedded systems
• Regulated development environments
• Software verification and validation methodologies
• Strong debugging and analytical skills
• Multidisciplinary engineering teams
• DO-178C or similar safety standards
• Aerospace/defence/autonomous systems background
• ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 environments
• Flight control systems/avionics
• UAV/UAS/eVTOL programmes
• ROS/ROS2/MAVLink/PX4/ArduPilot
• Model-based development
• Formal methods or verified software development
• Regulated industries software certification

Responsibilities

• Design and develop safety-critical embedded software for autonomous platforms
• Develop components that provide runtime assurance and safety monitoring
• Contribute to high-integrity software for regulated environments
• Support software architecture and design of certifiable autonomous systems
• Collaborate with verification, validation and certification teams to meet objectives
• Support development of software for high-assurance applications
• Integrate software across mission systems, flight control and safety functions
• Participate in software safety analysis and design assurance activities
• Evolve platform capabilities from development to deployment
• Improve software engineering processes and standards
