Job summary

Our client, a pioneering medical technology business, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own embedded software development and define architecture. The role collaborates with hardware, systems, verification and regulatory teams to deliver medical devices for hospital settings.

Based in Runcorn with flexible hybrid working from home, the position offers £60,000–£70,000 DOE and a strong focus on regulatory compliance (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, IEC 60601).

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing embedded software for medical devices or another regulated industry.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, IEC 62304, IEC 60601 or equivalent.
• Strong documentation, traceability, and verification discipline for regulated software.
• Experience collaborating with regulatory, quality, or verification teams.
• Senior-level embedded software skills with the ability to define architecture and set standards.
• Engineers from other safety-critical backgrounds encouraged to apply with relevant regulated exposure.
