Job summary

Applause IT Recruitment Ltd is assisting a Manchester-based electronics business to recruit a Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer. The role blends firmware and hardware, taking ownership from concept through to production across UK and international markets.

You’ll develop real-time firmware in C/C++, lead architecture, and work with ARM Cortex-M, STM32 and ESP32 MCUs, while collaborating with hardware, software, and production teams in a hybrid Manchester setting.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in real-time embedded firmware development with C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32 and similar MCUs.
• Hands-on with hardware, boards bring-up and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time embedded firmware and device drivers in C/C++.
• Lead embedded architecture and system-level design.
• Configure and optimise RTOS environments (FreeRTOS).
• Support schematic design, PCB development and hardware validation.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and production teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews.
