Job summary

Ultra is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineering leader to direct and oversee a team of 20-30 engineers across embedded and application software. You will define best-practice processes, drive architecture decisions and ensure alignment with hardware and systems teams within the Cyber UK Business Unit.

The role requires expert knowledge of C/C++, Rust and embedded development, with experience in security-conscious development and DV clearance readiness.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of C/C++, Rust, or embedded product development including RTOSes.
• Expert knowledge of software engineering practices, methodologies, processes and trends.
• Track record of delivering complex software solutions to schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and influence across multiple projects to optimize architecture and tool chains.
• Develop software requirements, architectures and designs satisfying system and security requirements.
• Mentor and coach engineers; review significant technical documents and lead technical reviews.
