Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications, based in the UK, is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop and maintain embedded and application software within the Cyber UK unit. You will apply object‑oriented design, contribute to secure software development practices, and lead aspects of multiple projects.

You should hold a degree in engineering or sciences, be proficient in C/C++ with RTOS and embedded Linux, and be able to obtain SC/DV clearance.

Qualifications

Degree in engineering, mathematics or science-based subject or equivalent experience.
Significant experience in Embedded product development (bare-metal/RTOS).
Experience in C and C++ and in Object-Oriented Design.
Experience with software testing and design for test.
Desirable: Master’s degree and knowledge of Rust, JS frameworks, and version control.

Responsibilities

Architect, specify requirements, design, implement and test embedded and/or application software.
Apply OO design to enable re-use and testing integration.
Review system design artefacts to derive software requirements.
Maintain software designs using RSA/EA and enable code generation.
Lead defined aspects of projects to balance requirements, schedule and cost.
Mentor less experienced engineers and sign off major technical documents.
