Job summary

Fractile in the United Kingdom is hiring a deeply experienced embedded software engineer to shape the software that drives our AI accelerator hardware. On the device, you’ll write and optimize low‑level code close to the metal, influencing scheduling, data movement, and kernel performance.

You will collaborate across hardware, simulation, compiler, and firmware teams, run benchmarks, and turn profiling results into real performance wins.

Qualifications

• Proven embedded software experience with performance focus.
• Strong understanding of low‑level architecture and memory behavior.
• Excellent C and assembly skills; maintainable, high‑quality code.

Responsibilities

• Write and optimise performance‑critical ML kernels in C, with assembly where it matters.
• Build low‑level control paths including scheduling, synchronisation, and data movement.
• Write validation workloads and microbenchmarks to validate hardware behaviour.
• Profile, benchmark, and track regressions to ensure real performance gains.
• Collaborate with simulation, hardware, ML, compiler, firmware and runtime teams.
