Job summary

Trakm8 Limited in Coleshill, UK, is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux & Vision AI Engineer to lead development of embedded Linux platforms and AI-powered camera products, moving from prototypes to production devices deployed in customer fleets.

The role combines kernel/driver work with edge AI deployment (TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime) and requires mentoring peers, ensuring reliability, security, and field readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded Linux development: kernel, drivers, BSP and build systems.
• Strong C and C++ skills, with Python for tooling, testing and ML workflows.
• Experience deploying ML models on edge hardware with quantisation and hardware acceleration.
• Experience with computer vision frameworks and models (OpenCV, YOLO-class detectors).
• Experience with camera subsystems and pipelines (V4L2, ISP tuning, MIPI-CSI).
• Track record of taking embedded products from prototype to production and field deployment.

Responsibilities

• Own the embedded Linux platform for camera devices: BSP maintenance, kernel and driver work, and build systems (Yocto or Buildroot).
• Design and maintain OTA update, provisioning and device management mechanisms.
• optimise boot time, power management and system reliability for vehicle-mounted devices.
• Integrate, optimise and deploy CV models on edge hardware (TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime).
• Develop and tune the camera pipeline (V4L2, ISP) for automotive imaging conditions.
• Define and track accuracy and performance metrics for vision features and release improvements.
