Job summary

HeatingSave, based in the United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer specializing in Embedded and Linux systems. You will design and develop software/firmware for security and energy management systems, including Linux kernel work on ARM platforms and custom drivers in C/C++.

Role involves maintaining firmware on ARM Cortex-A8, Cortex-M3, and ARM9, with future work on Cortex-M peripherals and TCP/IP stack support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent.
• At least four years of professional embedded experience.
• Real-time embedded design, development, debugging and support.
• Fluent in C/C++ software design.
• Experience with ARM Cortex/A8, Cortex-M3 and related drivers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and port embedded firmware and drivers.
• Develop embedded features for TCP/IP, UDP, RS485/RS232, encryption and data handling.
• Develop RFID and ZigBee components for Smart Meter/Smart Energy products.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and peers.
