Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Poole is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement and support software for Linux-based embedded platforms in rail communications. You will work on ARM and Intel targets and collaborate with Sales, Projects and Production teams.

The role focuses on delivering robust engineering solutions across the full lifecycle, from requirements through testing and site commissioning, with opportunities to lead demonstrations and contribute to cutting-edge rail tech such as

Qualifications

Linux-based embedded software development experience.
Network communications with GSM/GSM-R, 4G/5G knowledge.
C++ with Qt-based GUI development for embedded platforms.
Familiarity with SDL TTCN tools or similar telecom testing tools.
Understanding secure coding and software quality practices.

Responsibilities

Own engineering work packages from scope to delivery with subcontractor oversight.
Apply systems engineering across the full lifecycle from requirements through commissioning support.
Provide technical guidance to project teams and bid activities.
Support sales by developing technical solutions for tenders and proposals.
Drive complex product development activities through the lifecycle.
Lead demonstrations, trials and evaluations of new products.
Develop cost estimates and assist project planning to meet targets.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex challenges.
