Job summary

Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company in the Hillingdon area is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive embedded Linux development and middleware work using modern C++ for advanced communications systems.

You'll join a small multidisciplinary R&D team spanning software, hardware, RF and mechanical engineering. The role offers hybrid working, ownership from concept through to production, and opportunities to collaborate with international development teams as products move into production.

Qualifications

• Experience with Embedded Linux development.
• Strong knowledge of modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20).
• Experience with networking protocols and VoIP tech (SIP, RTP, PJSIP, Asterisk).
• Proven ability to develop multi-threaded software in embedded environments.
• Experience delivering reliable, high-integrity systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop software at the Embedded Linux application/middleware layer.
• Collaborate across software, hardware, RF and mechanical teams.
• Work on networking, protocols and distributed systems.
• Own features from design through deployment, with end-to-end ownership.
• Travel to international development teams as products move into production.
