Job summary

AddSecure in Theale, near Reading, is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Developer to join the Smart Alarms team. You will work hands-on with C and embedded Linux, building i.MX93 Buildroot-based systems, and influence architecture and engineering practices.

This senior role requires collaboration across software and hardware, taking solutions from architecture through implementation, testing and deployment, with hybrid working (3 days per week in the office).

At AddSecure, our Smart Alarms team develops solutions for secure IoT, monitored alarm transmission and critical communication. We’re now looking for a Senior Embedded Linux Developer to join our team in Theale.

You’ll work hands-on with C and embedded Linux, developing the next generation of our i.MX93 Buildroot-based systems while having real influence over architecture, engineering practices and future products.

You’ll get to work with technologies such as:

• Embedded Linux & Buildroot
• Ethernet, Wi-Fi & cellular connectivity
• Automated testing & CI

This is a senior role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, collaborating across software and hardware, and taking solutions from architecture through implementation, testing and deployment.

Based in our new office in Theale, near Reading, with hybrid working – typically 3 days per week in the office.”
