Job summary

Neupulse in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to take ownership of the firmware for a wearable neurostimulation device that already improves lives. You will guide external development, shape architecture, and help bring internal capabilities in-house while meeting medical device standards.

You'll work closely with electronics, software, quality and regulatory teams to ensure safe, reliable products, and you'll influence both V2 and future product development through

Qualifications

• Proven embedded firmware development experience in safety-critical or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with STM32 or ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and FreeRTOS.
• Familiarity with medical device standards (IEC 62304) and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of the wearable device firmware and review external partner work.
• Support V2 and future product development, guiding architecture decisions.
• Ensure firmware is developed, tested and documented to meet regulatory requirements (IEC 62304).
• Help build in-house firmware capability and processes.
• Contribute hands-on development, debugging, testing and problem solving.
• Collaborate with electronics, software, quality and regulatory teams to deliver safe products.
