Job summary

Applause IT Recruitment seeks a Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer in Manchester to join the expanding R&D team. You will work across firmware and hardware, taking concepts through to production with real-time embedded firmware in C/C++ and MCU development on ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, and similar devices.

You will configure RTOS environments, develop peripheral drivers (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN, Ethernet), perform board bring-up and debugging, and contribute to architecture decisions while

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Embedded C/C++ experience.
• Excellent MCU knowledge.
• RTOS and real-time embedded development experience.
• Hands-on electronics and hardware capability.
• Experience reading schematics and debugging at board level.
• Experience taking embedded products from concept through to production.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time embedded firmware in C/C++.
• Work with ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, NXP MCUs.
• Configure and optimise RTOS/FreeRTOS environments.
• Develop peripheral drivers – SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN, Ethernet.
• Board bring-up, bootloader development and hardware debugging.
• Analogue & digital electronics, schematics and PCB development.
• Embedded security, reliability and system-level debugging.
• Leading architecture decisions and mentoring other engineers.
