Job summary

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking a Senior Editor to lead editorial project management for ELT publishing within the Adult/HE team. The role involves coordinating schedules, budgets and resources with an international team to deliver content on schedule and to budget.

The candidate will work with authors, freelancers and internal staff to ensure engaging, pedagogically sound content across print and digital products, meeting tight deadlines and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field or proven comparable experience.
• Knowledge of ELT pedagogy theory and practice, including CELTA/TESOL qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong editorial project planning and management skills with experience of ELT products and workflows.
• Experience briefing and managing freelancers, and supervising in-house editorial work.
• Hands-on content and copy-editing experience of both print and digital products.
• Success in working to tight timescales and delivering to specification and budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead on development of allocated course components or levels, by managing schedules, budgets, and editorial resources.
• Ensure content under development is engaging, pedagogically sound.
• Collaborate with Commissioning Editor and Product Owner to meet wider goals and milestones.
• Contribute to definition of editorial scope and requirements.
• Set, plan, and monitor timelines and deliverables with the team.
