Job summary

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking a Senior Editor to lead editorial project management within the English Propositions Team in Cambridge. The role focuses on ELT publishing plans, managing schedules, budgets and quality across levels and components, in a highly collaborative international environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant field or proven comparable experience.
• Knowledge of ELT pedagogy theory and practice, including CELTA/TESOL qualification or equivalent.
• Strong editorial project planning and management with ELT products and workflows.
• Experience briefing and managing freelancers and supervising in-house editorial work.
• Proven ability to deliver to tight timescales, specification and budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead on development of allocated course components or levels, managing schedules, budgets and resources.
• Ensure content is engaging, pedagogically sound.
• Work with the Commissioning Editor and/or Product Owner to meet milestones.
• Contribute to the definition of detailed editorial scope and requirements.
• Set, plan, schedule, and monitor project timelines, milestones and deliverables; report to the Senior Team.
• Schedule and coordinate the work of authors / writers, and in-house or freelance editorial staff; identify risks and corrective actions.
• Ensure budget adherence and mitigate budget-related risks.
• Communicate with team and stakeholders to deliver content on time.
