Position: Senior Electronics Modelling Engineer

Location: Harlow

Raytheon UK is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team, focusing on Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for military applications. The role reports to the APNT Hardware/Firmware Engineering Lead at the Harlow facility.

Main Duties:

• Develop requirements ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Collaborate with system engineers on electronic subsystem architectures.
• Create hardware models and run simulations.
• Support schematic creation, PCB design, component evaluation, and verification.
• Work with embedded software and mechanical engineers.
• Generate design documentation and conduct technical reviews.
• Apply knowledge of embedded digital electronics, microprocessor systems, ADC/DAC, SRAM, Flash, FPGAs, and SoC technologies.
• Engage in model-based design and simulation using tools like Matlab/Simulink and SPICE.
• Support prototype development and transition to production hardware.
• Ensure PCB designs conform to defense and airborne standards.
• Design high-speed interfaces such as LVDS and JESD.
• Present technical information clearly and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Maintain security clearance (SC level) or be eligible.
• Utilize Xilinx chips, Mentor Xpedition, and create DO254 compliant systems.
• Understand environmental testing requirements (shock, vibration, EMC).
• Apply a systems engineering approach throughout the design lifecycle.
