Job description

Raytheon UK is seeking an Electronics Modelling Engineer to join the Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area. The role involves creating Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market and will be based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility. The successful candidate will report directly to the APNT Hardware/Firmware Engineering Lead.

The Electronics Modelling Engineer will work on a diverse range of product designs and assist in their integration, serving as the focal point for the complete system.

Main Duties:
  1. Develop requirements to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  2. Collaborate with system engineers and modellers on electronic subsystem architectures.
  3. Create hardware models and run simulations.
  4. Read and create schematics.
  5. Work with embedded software and mechanical engineers.
  6. Generate design documentation and conduct technical reviews.
  7. Work with embedded digital electronics and microprocessor systems.
  8. Work with ADC/DAC, memory devices like SRAM and Flash, and FPGA and SoC technologies.
  9. Create model-based designs and simulations.
  10. Understand IBIS, SPICE, and other models.
  11. Use Matlab/Simulink, SPICE toolsets.
  12. Handle high-speed interfaces and signal technologies such as LVDS and JESD.
  13. Present technical information clearly and concisely.
  14. Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  15. Show openness to learning new techniques.
  16. Adapt to a dynamic work environment, working independently or with teams.
  17. Analyze and report on technical data.
  18. Hold or be eligible for current SC security clearance.
  19. Experience with Xilinx chips, Mentor Xpedition PCB design, and creating DO254 compliant systems.
  20. Understand VITA interfaces and environmental testing requirements.
  21. Possess domain knowledge in APNT systems or similar fields.
