Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking an Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Lead in Royston to head a small team of Electronics Manufacturing and Test Engineers. You will own the development and improvement of PCBA testing capabilities and drive automated test equipment projects.

This role blends advanced electronics design with hands-on troubleshooting, manufacturing support and continuous improvement, collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D and suppliers to deliver robust production

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Significant experience in Electronics Design and/or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Strong electronics design, measurement and diagnostic capability.
• Experience designing circuits and PCB layouts using CAD tools.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills on high-sensitivity electronics.
• Experience leading technical projects or engineering teams.
• Ability to develop and support engineers and technicians at different levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small team of Electronics Manufacturing and Test Engineers/Technicians.
• Provide technical leadership and support to Manufacturing to achieve departmental objectives.
• Lead projects introducing new products, manufacturing processes and automated test equipment.
• Design, specify, develop, validate and document automated test and verification solutions.
• Develop data acquisition from key manufacturing and test equipment to support data-driven decision making and process improvements.
• Provide hands-on technical support, fault finding and repair of precision electronic PCB assemblies.
• Conduct structured problem solving and root cause analysis to diagnose manufacturing and electronics issues.
• Provide technical training and support to manufacturing and engineering teams.
