Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Senior Technician to provide hands-on expertise in the manufacture, testing, integration and repair of electronic assemblies, PCBAs and wiring harnesses. You will help maintain high quality, safety and regulatory compliance in the electronics laboratory and work closely with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electronic assembly and PCB testing within high-tech environments.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electronic systems.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and laboratory management practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics and manufacturing docs.
• Experience in wiring harness manufacture and system integration.
• Knowledge of ESD controls and safety/quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture high-quality electronic wiring assemblies per IPC standards.
• Inspect, power-up, test and integrate PCBAs and electronic systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify faults in electronic assemblies and flight hardware.
• Repair and modify flight system hardware per procedures and quality standards.
• Oversee ECNs in the lab and ensure correct implementation.
• Coordinate with engineering to ensure clear instructions and release documents.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and repeatability.
• Support planning of daily lab activities and priorities.
• Supervise lab staff and allocate tasks, with department head handling formal management.
