Job summary

Gerrell & Hard Ltd is seeking a Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our team near Reading with hybrid working options. You will help develop subsea instrumentation, from concept through testing, in a dynamic, innovative environment.

You will lead analogue and digital circuit design, EMC testing, and embedded C/C++ work, while mentoring colleagues and delivering robust, manufacturable hardware with clear documentation.

Qualifications

• 2:1 degree or above in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Strong experience in analogue and digital circuit design with low-noise, low-power focus
• Experience with EMC design and testing (EN60945 or related standards)
• Embedded C (competent) and C++ (basic)
• Proficient with Altium for schematic capture and PCB design best practices
• Excellent documentation and cross-team communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design reviews and compare engineering approaches
• Mentor across engineering and production for quality and continuous improvement
• Develop hardware across full lifecycle from concept to testing and support
• Produce clear, accurate documentation and design records
