Job summary

SR2 is seeking an experienced Electronics or Hardware Engineer to join a growing team developing complex electronic systems for aerospace applications. You’ll influence the full product development lifecycle from requirements and architecture to hardware integration, verification and delivery.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Electronics or Hardware Engineer to join a growing engineering team developing complex electronic systems for aerospace applications.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working beyond just circuit design or testing. You'll be involved in the wider development of electronic products, from requirements and system architecture through to hardware integration, verification and delivery.

We're open to engineers from different backgrounds, whether your experience is primarily in electronics design, hardware development, systems integration or verification.

Skills & Experience

We're interested in speaking with engineers who have a strong electronics or hardware engineering background. You don't need to have experience across every area below.

• Strong experience in electronics, hardware or electronic systems engineering
• Experience developing, integrating or testing complex electronic products
• Understanding of the engineering lifecycle, from requirements through to verification and validation
• Ability to work across hardware, software and wider systems engineering disciplines
• Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams

Useful Experience:

• Electronic system architecture and requirements engineering
• Hardware verification, validation and qualification
• Aerospace, defence or other high-integrity engineering environments
• DO-254, DO-160 or similar engineering standards
• FPGA-based systems or embedded electronics
• Electronic controllers, power electronics or motor drives
• Systems integration and hardware testing
• DOORS, Polarion or similar requirements management tools
• Experience leading technical work packages or coordinating engineering activities

Additional Information

• Permanent ideal but we are also open to contractors
• up to £72,500 salary
• Contractor rate flexible from £60-80/hr
• Bristol-based, hybrid (2 days on 3 days WFH)
• UK or NATO nationality required due to programme security restrictions
