Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in Leicester seeks an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to drive R&D and product lifecycle for high-value machinery. You will design electronic/firmware systems, perform hands-on prototype work, and collaborate across manufacturing, R&D, and suppliers.

The role blends desk work with lab and shop activities. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electro-mechanical development, strong analogue/digital electronics knowledge, and hands-on PCB design and prototyping experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' industrial experience in electro-mechanical machinery.
• Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics and control systems.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics; PCB design and prototyping.
• Experience with data acquisition and motor control applications.
• Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide cross-functional systems design support for high-value customised products.
• Work with Manufacturing and R&D to ensure designs are suitable for external manufacture.
• Liaise with mechanical, electronics and software engineers to solve system-level problems.
• Support product lifecycle from cradle to grave and sustaining products.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites or suppliers to support operations.
• Be a key player within the Electronics section of the R&D team.
