Job summary

ECM Selection is expanding its electronics team and seeks engineers with a background in analogue or power electronics to work closely with customers on instrumentation projects.

You will improve existing designs, develop new custom products for key customers, and research new technologies to support future product development. On-site full-time, with progression toward principal engineer in a dynamic Nottingham-based small business.

Qualifications

• 1st or 2:1 in Electronics/Electrical Engineering; master's or PhD preferred.
• Commercial-grade experience in analogue or power electronics.
• Strong MATLAB and circuit-simulation knowledge; PCB design exposure.
• Demonstrable leadership in projects, ideally in a small company.

Combine technical expertise with customer interaction and genuine project ownership

This company is growing its electronics team and is seeking engineers willing to work closely with customers and with a background in analogue or power electronics. They produce world leading instrumentation equipment used in a huge variety of industries and are often involved in one-off or limited run bespoke designs.

You will work in a variety of areas including improving existing designs, developing new custom products for key customers, and researching new technologies and solutions to support future product development. As you progress you will be given more autonomy to define and develop your own projects and even guide commercial and business direction.

Requirements:

• 1st or 2:1 in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or related subject from a top university (Russell Group or similar). Ideally a master’s degree or PhD.
• Commercial-grade experience in analogue or power electronics. This could come from a related field such as audio engineering, instrumentation or test and measurement.
• Good working knowledge of MATLAB, SPICE simulations (or other circuit simulation software) and PCB design and layout.
• Demonstrable projects leadership skills. Ideally in the context of a small company where people take on a wide variety of roles.
