Job summary

ECM Selection (Holdings) Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior/Principal Engineer to join its growing electronics team. You will work on analogue and power electronics for world-class instrumentation used across diverse industries.

As you progress you will take ownership of projects, guide technical direction, and work closely with on-site manufacturing and R&D teams. This on-site role offers progression toward principal engineer in a small, dynamic company.

Qualifications

• 1st or 2:1 in Electronics / Electrical Engineering (Russell Group or similar); master’s or PhD preferred.
• Commercial-grade experience in analogue or power electronics; related fields acceptable.
• Proficient in MATLAB and SPICE simulations, plus PCB design & layout.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in small teams with broad role responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Improve existing designs and develop new custom products for key customers.
• Research new technologies to support future product development.
• Lead projects with increasing autonomy and help shape commercial directions.
• Collaborate with on-site manufacturing and R&D teams; progress to principal engineer level.

This company is growing its electronics team and is seeking engineers willing to work closely with customers and with a background in analogue or power electronics. They produce world leading instrumentation equipment used in a huge variety of industries and are often involved in one-off or limited run bespoke designs.

You will work in a variety of areas including improving existing designs, developing new custom products for key customers, and researching new technologies and solutions to support future product development. As you progress you will be given more autonomy to define and develop your own projects and even guide commercial and business direction.

Joining a small business, you will be working closely with engineers with a variety of backgrounds including the on-site manufacturing team and world class R&D team. This is an excellent place to continue your career development with clear progression potential through to principal engineer. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be on-site full-time.

Requirements:

• 1st or 2:1 in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or related subject from a top university (Russell Group or similar). Ideally a master's degree or PhD.

• Good working knowledge of MATLAB, SPICE simulations (or other circuit simulation software) and PCB design and layout.
• Demonstrable projects leadership skills. Ideally in the context of a small company where people take on a wide variety of roles.
