Job summary

Blighter Surveillance Systems Ltd. is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to design, develop and validate complex analogue/digital circuits for radar subsystems. You will own the full product lifecycle from prototyping to production support, with occasional RF/Microwave work and hands-on lab testing.

Based in Great Chesterford, just south of Cambridge, the role is hybrid with three days onsite. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with mechanical, firmware and manufacturing teams

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Several years of significant electronic design experience.
• Strong analogue and digital design expertise.
• Experience with PCB design tools and lab equipment.
• Experience with embedded systems and interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CANbus).
• Knowledge of signal integrity, EMC, approvals testing; RF/Microwave knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from design through validation and production.
• Design and develop advanced analogue and digital circuits.
• Perform simulation, testing, debugging, verification.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues at system and component levels.
• Conduct design reviews; ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: mechanical, firmware, manufacturing.
• Support prototype-to-production transition with production team.
• Support and mentor junior engineers.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to design, develop, and validate complex electronic systems. This role focuses on advanced analogue and digital circuit design, with occasional involvement in Microwave RF systems. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full product lifecycle from prototyping and circuit design through to design verification and production support.You will be given responsibility for delivering one of the radar electronic sub-systems.Blighter Surveillance Systems Ltd. designs and sells electronic-scanning ground radar systems for border security, counter-drone, perimeter security and coastline security. Our radars have a reputation for performance and reliability, protecting lives and critical assets worldwide. As an SME, we are able to develop and adapt our designs quickly in response to user requirements. Based in Great Chesterford just south of Cambridge, we are easy to reach by car and only two minutes' walk from the nearest rail station.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a projects from initial design through to validation and production

Key Requirements

• Degree (BEng/MEng or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Several years Significant industry experience in electronic design
• Strong analogue and digital design expertise
• Experience with PCB design tools and lab equipment
• Familiarity with embedded systems and interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, CANbus high-speed buses).
• Understanding of signal integrity, EMC and approvals testing RF/Microwave knowledge desirable

This role is hybrid with three days per week onsite. This is not a self-employed opportunity.
