- Taking technical ownership of electronics design across client projects, including architecture and design decisions
- Designing digital and power electronics circuits, including protection and sensing functions
- Prototyping new designs, including soldering and rework
- Applying, and where needed developing, hazardous area (ATEX/IECEx, NEC/CEC) and EMC design principles
- Working closely with firmware and mechanical engineers to deliver complete client projects
- Investigating and resolving complex issues found during testing or validation
- Contributing to and reviewing design documentation and certification submissions
- Supporting client-facing technical discussions where required
- Planning and managing your own time and priorities across projects
Ideal Requirements / Experience
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in electronics engineering
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or an integrated Mechanical/Electrical Engineering discipline (essential - practical experience alone is not sufficient)
- Extensive schematic capture and PCB layout experience using Altium Designer
- Strong grounding in electronics theory, including digital and power electronics
- Track record of taking technical ownership of designs from concept through to completion
- Strong practical skills in prototyping, including soldering/rework
- Experience testing new electronics designs, and using the equipment to do so
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to plan and manage time and priorities across projects
- Experience working in a consultancy environment
- Familiarity with project management and documentation tools
- Familiarity with ATEX/IECEx or hazardous area electronics
- Experience designing EMC compliant electronics, and solving EMC issues if they arise
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
Salary and Package
- The salary and package will be tailored to the individual, based on experience
- This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with in-office presence required when the type of work demands it
