This position involves developing electronics and software/firmware for advanced laser products. You will collaborate within the electronics and software team to take ownership of design, testing, documentation, and other development activities. Responsibilities include designing new products, updating existing ones, understanding production capabilities, and creating innovative solutions to meet customer needs.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Designing new laser systems from concept to manufacture, including testing and documentation.
2. Collaborating with laser engineers to maintain controls, procedures, and specifications.
3. Considering customer requirements throughout the design process.
4. Working with engineering and project teams to achieve solutions.
5. Ensuring project deadlines are met.
6. Managing parts of engineering projects.
7. Performing tolerance calculations as needed.
8. Ensuring designs are manufacturable with satisfactory yield and cost, in collaboration with suppliers.
9. Finding and selecting suppliers for new capabilities.
10. Assembling prototypes to verify specifications.
11. Programming in C, VHDL, etc., to support circuit design.
12. Documenting work via PLM/PDM and other systems.
13. Ensuring products meet safety and compliance standards through testing and documentation.
14. Continuously improving product design, production, and cost efficiency.

• Experience leading product development in electronics and software, with strong communication skills.
