365 People are recruiting for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join an established, highly specialised engineering and manufacturing business in Leicester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being hands‑on, solving complex technical problems and taking ownership of electronic systems throughout their product lifecycle.
Our client designs and manufactures sophisticated, high-value, low-volume precision engineering equipment used in demanding industrial applications.
Unlike roles focused purely on new product development, this position offers a genuine mixture of electronics design, fault‑finding, manufacturing support, product improvements and technical problem‑solving.
You’ll work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary engineering team, with the opportunity to develop into a technical leadership or people‑management position in the future.
As Senior Electronics Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting existing electronic products while contributing to new developments and improvements.
Approximately 80% of the role involves sustaining engineering, product support, troubleshooting, obsolescence management and manufacturing‑related challenges, with around 20% focused on new product development.
You’ll spend a significant amount of time working directly with equipment, electronics assemblies and colleagues across engineering and production, rather than being desk‑based all day.
We are particularly interested in engineers who have worked with complex, high‑value electronic equipment, ideally within low‑volume or specialist manufacturing environments.
You don't need to have worked with the exact products our client manufactures. What's important is your ability to understand complex electronic systems, investigate problems and apply your engineering knowledge across different technologies.
Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
Experience in every area is not expected. We are looking for someone with strong core electronics design skills and demonstrable technical expertise in at least one specialist area.
We would welcome applications from engineers working within:
Alongside technical ability, we’re looking for someone who communicates well, enjoys collaborating with others and is comfortable sharing knowledge with colleagues.
There is genuine potential for the successful candidate to take on greater technical responsibility and develop into a leadership or management position as the department evolves.
Previous management experience would be beneficial but is not essential. An interest in mentoring others, supporting team development and potentially progressing into leadership would be welcomed.
This is an opportunity to work on technically interesting, high‑value equipment where your engineering decisions have a direct impact on product performance and manufacturing.
