Job summary

Redshore is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer in Bishops Stortford to design and document electro-mechanical systems for advanced machinery. You will lead schematic capture and PCB layout, tackle multi-layer digital and analog designs, and address EMC and power electronics considerations.

You will have a formal engineering qualification and experience with machinery products, and you will lead small project teams through development lifecycles.

Qualifications

• HND/Degree qualified with machinery product development experience.
• Experience in electronic and electromechanical systems.
• Experience leading a small project team.

Responsibilities

• Lead schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
• Design multi-layer PCBs including digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics.
• Ensure EMC compliance and robust signal integrity.
• Develop design documentation: schematics, BOMs, fabrication files, and reports.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within this leading, global manufacturer of machinery and equipment into a number of technical and engineering industries, for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join its team in Bishops Stortford.

THE ROLE

The Senior Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and documentation associated with the electro-mechanical systems of highly complex electromechanical machinery. Independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in executing product development and validation. Responsibilities include:

• Lead the schematic capture and PCB layout design using Altium Designer
• Design multi-layer PCBs, including:
  • Digital circuits
  • Mixed-signal designs (analog + digital)
  • Power electronics and signal integrity considerations
  • Design hardware to meet EMC standards
• Perform component selection, derating, and lifecycle analysis
• Develop design documentation, including:
  • Schematics
  • BOMs
  • PCB fabrication and assembly files
  • Design reports

Contribute technical input to design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives across the product lifecycle.

THE PERSON

In order to succeed in the role of Senior Electronics Engineer the ideal candidate will be HND/Degree qualified and have experience of developing products specifically machinery. You will needs good experience of Electronic and electromechanical syatems. Experience of leading a small team and running projects is essential to fulfill this Senior Engineer role.
