365 People is recruiting a Senior Electronics Engineer for an established Leicester-based manufacturer of specialist, high-precision engineering equipment.

This is a key role in an R&D team, covering electronics, firmware and systems engineering on complex electro-mechanical machinery. The role blends design with hands-on prototyping, testing, troubleshooting and lifecycle support across products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' industrial electronics experience
• Strong knowledge of electronic control systems
• Analogue and digital electronics
• Circuit and PCB design/prototyping
• Hardware and firmware development for microcontrollers
• Data acquisition, motor control and communications experience
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and electronic schematics
• Strong practical fault-finding ability
• Willingness to remain hands-on with electronics
• An engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred

We're recruiting a Senior Electronics Engineer for an established Leicester-based manufacturer of specialist, high-precision engineering equipment.

This is a key position within a highly skilled R&D team, working across electronics, firmware and systems engineering on technically complex, high-value electro-mechanical machinery.

It's an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who doesn't want to spend their entire week behind a desk. The position combines electronics design and development with hands-on prototyping, testing, troubleshooting and supporting products throughout their complete lifecycle.

The Role

You'll work cross-functionally across R&D, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering and Software Engineering, with responsibility for:

• Electronic and systems design support across engineering and manufacturing
• Circuit design, PCB design and prototyping
• Hardware and firmware development for microcontroller-based systems
• Applications involving data acquisition, motor control and data communications
• Hands-on implementation, testing, troubleshooting and fault finding
• Supporting electronic designs through manufacture and assembly
• Interpreting wiring diagrams and electronic schematics
• Product lifecycle support from development through to long-term in-service support
• Practical prototyping including cables, soldering and PCB rework
• Technical documentation and ensuring solutions are properly captured
• Occasional travel to customers, suppliers and other business locations

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with:

• 5+ years' industrial electronics experience
• Strong knowledge of electronic control systems
• Analogue and digital electronics
• Circuit and PCB design/prototyping
• Hardware and firmware development for microcontrollers
• Data acquisition, motor control and communications experience
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and electronic schematics
• Strong practical fault-finding ability
• Willingness to remain genuinely hands-on with electronics
• An HNC/HND/Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering would be preferred, although equivalent demonstrable industrial experience will also be considered.

Nice to Have

Experience with Altium Designer, SolidWorks, CE/EMC/LVD regulatory compliance, precision instrumentation, product lifecycle engineering or motor control would be advantageous but isn't essential.
