Job summary

Overview

Senior Electronics Engineer - Addlestone Area - Defence Industry

£50 - £60 p/h | Depending on experience

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join a UK known defence manufacturer in the Addlestone area. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative and exciting industry!

Role & Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the electronic design of circuit boards and integrated systems.
  • Factor in manufacturability and testability early in the design process to ensure a smooth handover to production.
  • Carry out system-level integration and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues.
  • Contribute to project evaluations and support technical presentations during design reviews.
  • Coordinate with external compliance facilities to validate that products meet defence and European regulatory requirements, including CE and UKCA standards.
  • Adhere to the company\'s health and safety policies and ensure safe working methods are followed at all times.
  • Generate detailed technical documents and drawings throughout the development cycle - including component lists, circuit diagrams, and engineering change documentation - ensuring alignment with internal configuration protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to address the electronic engineering needs of product and system development.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Skilled in the end-to-end design, development, and evaluation of both digital and analogue electronic circuits, from initial concept through to final implementation.
  • Capable of performing design tasks across both system-wide and equipment-specific levels.
  • Ensure design outputs meet all technical criteria throughout development, integration, and final client acceptance stages.
  • Well-versed in comprehensive electronics design practices, including ensuring products meet regulatory standards such as EMC, RoHS, Safety, and UKCA/CE compliance.
  • Proficient in using electronic schematic design tools like OrCAD for circuit design and layout.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively, balancing priorities while maintaining a practical, hands-on mindset.
  • Confident working collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners to develop effective engineering solutions.
  • Background includes working with Ministry of Defence clients and applying relevant test protocols, especially in areas related to sonar technology.
