Senior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 (+Bonus) Commensurate with experience

Hours: 40 hr. per week. Hours are flexible within office hours.

As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will play an integral role, working within a small multidisciplinary team to develop electronic products for applications such as medical devices, wearables, and IoT.

The Position:

1. Translate customer requirements into new product designs.
2. Collaborate with team members to deliver innovative solutions.
3. Design custom electronic circuit boards, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
4. Handle board bring-up, verification, and testing.
5. Assist with integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting with customers.
6. Participate in occasional client meetings and prepare technical reports, requiring good professional communication skills.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 7+ years of industry experience in electronics design.
• Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in schematic capture and PCB layout design.
• Strong knowledge of analogue and digital design, including architecture, component selection, manufacturing considerations, and EMC compliance.
• Experience working with microprocessors/microcontrollers, memory, programmable logic, power supplies, and wireless communication.

Advantageous Skills:

• Experience with WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer.
• Knowledge of C / C++ / Python.
• Embedded software development experience.
• Previous work in a consultancy or R&D environment.
