Qualifications

  • Significant experience in embedded hardware design, preferably in marine or automotive.
  • Deep knowledge of microprocessors and communication interfaces.
  • Experience with CAD tools for PCB layout.

Responsibilities

  • Design digital, analog, and power circuitry for high-performance marine systems.
  • Develop embedded software in C++ and support junior engineers.
  • Drive full-lifecycle product development from concept to manufacturing.

We are seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer focused on providing additional strength in hardware and associated firmware/software development.

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled and broadly experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join the engineering team as a world leader in marine electronic navigation systems.

As our hardware platforms evolve to encompass leading-edge technologies, we require an additional electronics engineer, focused on providing additional strength in hardware and associated firmware/software development.

What You'll be Doing

  • Design digital, analog, and power circuitry for high-performance marine systems
  • Collaborate across engineering to bring hardware and mechanical designs together seamlessly
  • Develop embedded software in C++ (and sometimes C), plus tools to help with testing and dev work
  • Contribute to and improve our design processes—your voice matters here
  • Support and mentor junior engineers—because growth is a team sport
  • Drive full-lifecycle product development, from concept to manufacturing

What You'll Bring

  • Significant experience in embedded hardware design (marine, automotive, or similar)
  • Deep knowledge of microprocessors (ARM, STM32, PIC) and comms interfaces (RS422, CAN, USB, etc.)
  • Experience designing efficient, low-power SMPS
  • CAD skills (ideally Altium), with solid PCB layout and EMC awareness
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked with audio/data converters, RTOS, and real-time software fundamentals
  • Strong communication, planning, and a self-starter attitude
