Job summary

Thales in the UK, based at the Cheadle site, is seeking a Principal Technician to support the manufacture, assembly and maintenance of advanced electromechanical systems for defence projects. You will work to engineering drawings and quality standards to produce cable harnesses, LRUs and assemblies in a high-performance environment.

Ideal candidates will have IPC/WHMA-A-620D and IPC J-STD-001 experience, familiarity with military equipment and the ability to interpret build packs into finished

Qualifications

• Understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620D and IPC J-STD-001.
• Experience with military electromechanical assemblies.
• Proficient with commercial and military crimp tools.
• Able to solder and rework PCA assemblies per IPC J-STD-001.
• Capable of interpreting a build pack into a finished product.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture electromechanical assemblies on time and to quality.
• Escalate blockers to Work Cell Leader.
• Liaise with Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering on technical issues.
• Escalate health and safety issues to Work Cell Leader.
• Accountable for COSHH and Calibration.
• Ensure 5S standards are met.
• Liaise with Planning to ensure familiarity with the plan.
