Job summary

Unify is seeking a Solar Electrician to join an established team delivering commercial and domestic solar installations across the South and London. This field-based role offers variety and the chance to work with cutting-edge technology in solar energy.

You will install, test, inspect and maintain solar systems, ensuring quality and safety. The ideal candidate is fully qualified with 18th Edition and 2391, with Solar Edge experience and a willingness to travel across the South.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with NVQ3 in electrical installations and AM2.
• Up-to-date 18th Edition and 2391 Test & Inspect certification.
• Proven solar PV installation experience, commercial and domestic.
• Knowledge of Solar Edge is advantageous; battery storage and EV chargers helpful.
• Full UK driving licence; willingness to travel across the South and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Install solar PV systems on commercial and residential sites safely and to high standards.
• Perform testing and inspection in line with 18th Edition and 2391 standards.
• Diagnose and repair faults, provide aftercare and maintenance.
• Keep thorough records of installation details and test results.
• Interact professionally with clients and explain system usage and performance.

Location: Field‑based, covering the South and London

Employment Type: Full‑Time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £55,000 basic + Overtime

Role

As a Solar Electrician you will join an established team delivering commercial and domestic solar installations across the South and beyond. This field‑based role offers variety and the chance to work with cutting‑edge technology in solar energy. You will be responsible for installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of solar systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Install solar PV systems on commercial and residential sites safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
• Perform testing and inspection of installations in line with the 18th Edition and 2391 standards, guaranteeing safety and compliance.
• Diagnose and repair faults in solar PV systems, providing excellent aftercare and maintenance.
• Keep thorough records of work, including installation details, testing results, and maintenance activities.
• Interact professionally with clients, providing clear information and assistance on system usage and performance.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with an NVQ3 in electrical installations, AM2, 18th Edition and 2391 Test & Inspect certification.
• Proven experience in solar PV installations, preferably with a blend of commercial and domestic projects. Experience with Solar Edge will be well received.
• Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, battery storage, and EV chargers is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel across the South (and occasionally further) as required.
• Full UK driving licence; company van and fuel card will be provided.
