Job summary

Astute People is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to support renewable energy assets across the South Midlands and South England. The role focuses on operation, maintenance and upgrades of HV/LV electrical systems, with a salary up to £70k and a car allowance as part of a generous package.

The successful candidate will lead engineering projects, mentor junior staff and ensure safety and quality standards across multiple sites in the region.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Strong background in HV electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, cables and protection systems.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical engineering within power generation, utilities or renewable energy sectors.
• Experience working on renewable energy assets such as wind, solar or battery storage (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of HV and LV electrical systems across renewable energy assets.
• Lead and support engineering projects, upgrades and modifications from initial concept through to completion.
• Review maintenance activities and technical data to identify trends, defects and opportunities for performance improvement.
• Support the development and review of engineering documentation, specifications and technical standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery and operational support.
• Assist with Root Cause Analysis investigations and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technical personnel within the wider engineering team.
• Support planning and resource coordination activities while ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
