Job description
Overview

We\'re working with a motorsport/ high-performance automotive client who are seeking a Senior Electrical Technician. This role is a great fit for an experienced Electrical Technician looking for their next step up into a Senior role. You\'ll join a specialist Electrical & Electronics team and take on a broad mix of work, from harness and electronics assembly to diagnostics and on-vehicle build support, across both prototype and production-level projects.

Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, service, and test production assemblies to high quality and safety standards
  • Carry out prototype and pre-production builds, resolving issues before volume production
  • Manufacture one-off prototype wiring assemblies (LV & HV), sensors, test rigs, and assemblies
  • Undertake on-vehicle wiring, electrical remedial work, and diagnostics using test equipment
  • Plan and manage workload with the department lead, delivering projects on time and to quality standards
  • Maintain build records and apply structured problem-solving processes to track and resolve engineering issues
  • Research and apply new technologies and processes to enhance engineering capabilities
  • Support testing and demonstration events
  • Maintain a safe, organised working area using 5S methodology
What We're Looking For
  • Background as an Engineering/Build Technician within OEM, Tier 1 supplier, engineering consultancy, or motorsport
  • Qualified to City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ-3 / BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Skilled in:
    • Harness and electronics assembly
    • Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostics
    • Interpreting engineering drawings, instructions, and documentation
    • Microsoft Office software
  • Additional fabrication/machining skills beneficial
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work across teams and at all levels
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure
