Job summary

ALTEN, a global engineering and technology consultancy, is seeking an experienced Electrical System Engineer to join the System Pole team supporting major UK nuclear infrastructure projects. You will deliver LV/HV electrical system activities and work with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure delivery and commissioning of critical electrical systems on high-value programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience in electrical systems engineering (HV/LV) for large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical design standards.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering activities across LV and HV systems.
• Support energy evacuation system activities where required.
• Collaborate with building pilots and provide electrical expertise for power evacuation platforms and electrical buildings.
• Contribute to technical preparation, review and acceptance of major electrical contracts.
• Provide back-office engineering support during commissioning phases.
• Liaise with the Joint Design Office to resolve technical queries.
