Job summary

Rivan Industries, based in London, seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to own our industrial AC power architecture for reactors, electrolyser, and DAC systems. You will shape design standards, safety philosophy, and cost optimisation as we scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial electrical design experience (power systems, industrial machinery, or process environments).
• Experience with Electrical CAD tools: Solidworks Electrical, EPLAN, AutoCAD.
• Experience contributing to safety instrumented systems (SIL/PL, SIF).
• Familiarity with IEC 61508 and related functional safety standards.
• Experience with industrial power conversion (rectifiers, inverters, VFDs) and high-power DC systems.
• ATEX or hazardous area classification exposure.
• Experience designing for manufacture and cost reduction at scale.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of AC power system architecture and optimise cost, manufacturability, reliability.
• Produce and maintain full power architecture schematics and protection strategies.
• Contribute to safety system architecture via HAZOPS/HAZIDS, FMEAs.
• Design electrical systems for reactor, electrolyser and direct-air-capture systems.
• Lead panel certification under Machinery Directive and Low Voltage Directive (CE/UKCA).
• Improve and iterate on pilot plants.
• Upskill and mentor mid-career and junior engineers.
