Job summary

Blockwork IT is seeking an Electrical Harness Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design electrical harnesses and EDS systems for vehicle and machinery applications, producing schematics, circuit diagrams and 3D routing solutions from concept through production.

You will apply DFМ principles, perform analyses (fuse-blow, voltage drop, conductor sizing) and support prototype builds while collaborating with suppliers to ensure production-ready designs.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in engineering or technology discipline.
• Experience in automotive/heavy machinery wiring harness environments preferred.
• Experience with 2D/3D harness design and EDS development.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory and vehicle electrical systems.
• Experience delivering harness designs from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical harnesses and EDS systems for vehicle/machine applications.
• Create and maintain vehicle electrical schematics, circuit diagrams and harness drawings.
• Develop 3D harness routing solutions including 3D installation concepts.
• Apply Design for Manufacture principles to harness creation and installation.
• Perform fuse-blow analysis, voltage drop and conductor sizing.
• Support prototype harness builds, modifications and testing.
• Investigate and resolve electrical design issues with suppliers and teams.
• Produce change-management documentation for production release.
• Maintain accurate design records and revisions for engineering documentation.
• Take ownership from concept through development to final delivery.
