Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Electronics CAD Technician / Cable Assembly Draftsman for an autonomous UAV manufacturer in the UK. You will produce and maintain controlled electrical and harness drawings using SolidWorks Electrical to enable reliable, repeatable manufacture across a growing fleet.

You will work closely with electrical, mechanical and manufacturing engineers to create wiring diagrams, BOMs and pinout schedules, support prototype builds, and manage document control across the product

Qualifications

Proven experience producing electrical CAD drawings and cable-harness documentation.
Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical (or equivalent CAD tools).
Strong understanding of schematics, cable schedules and BOM structures.
Detail-oriented with revision control and document-release experience.
Good communication with engineers and production teams.

Responsibilities

Produce and maintain controlled electrical and harness documentation in SolidWorks Electrical.
Create detailed cable assembly drawings with routing, shielding, and labeling.
Maintain schedules (pinouts, cable lists, BOMs) and ensure correct part numbers.
Support prototype builds and engineering change requests (ECR/ECN).
Liaise with engineering, purchasing, quality and manufacturing.
Maintain configuration-controlled records in document management / PDM systems.
