Job summary

TQR in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Fitter to join our established engineering team. This hands-on role covers panel building, wiring, and machine integration, working from electrical drawings and supporting testing and commissioning.

The role is primarily workshop-based in Plymouth with occasional travel to customer sites across the UK and overseas, typically for up to two weeks. You will mentor apprentices and liaise with project managers to keep timescales and safety

Qualifications

• Time-served electrical fitter or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with automation equipment and machinery.
• Experience with control panel building and machine wiring.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Good knowledge of PLCs, motors, relays and safety systems.
• Experience with electrical and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels to specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical circuits, drawings and layouts.
• Install motors, starters, relays, PLCs and Safety PLCs.
• Carry out wiring and installation using various wiring systems.
• Integrate pneumatic systems with electrical circuits.
• Fault-find on electrical and pneumatic systems and equipment.
• Inspect, test and commission installations and machinery.
• Mentor apprentices and semi-skilled teammates on safe practices.
