Job summary

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Electrical Fitter to join an established engineering business based in Plymouth. This hands-on role suits a time-served fitter with equivalent experience in automation equipment.

You will build and wire electrical control panels, read electrical drawings and integrate pneumatic systems. The role is workshop-based with occasional travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas for up to two weeks.

Qualifications

• Time-served electrical fitter or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with automation equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels to engineering and customer specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical circuits, engineering drawings and layout drawings.
• Install a range of electrical equipment including motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, PLCs and Safety PLCs.
• Carry out electrical wiring and installation using a range of wiring systems and accessories.
• Integrate pneumatic systems in line with electrical and pneumatic circuits.
• Fault-find on electrical and pneumatic systems and equipment.
• Inspect, test and commission electrical installations and machinery.
• Mentor apprentices and semi-skilled team members.
