Job summary

FSD Group in the UK is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its MEICA team, focusing on water treatment projects. You will lead tender costings, develop accurate estimates, and prepare competitive offers.

This role requires reading drawings, coordinating with supply chain, and driving bid submissions from enquiry through to award, with NEC3/4 and IChemE awareness. You will visit sites and ensure tenders align with client budgets while protecting margins.

Senior Estimator required to join a leading MEICA specialist that focus primarily within the water treatment sector, working on a range of projects and frameworks throughout the UK.

Job Description

• Reporting to the Tendering Manager
• Ensure all tenders are priced accurately to ensure the company remains competitive within the market
• Undertaking site visits where necessary to gain a better understanding of the work required.
• Preparing accurate and timely cost and sales estimates for projects to consistent and competitive levels
• Preparing and submit offers to clients

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• The candidate must take responsibility for all electrical related estimation works
• Playing a key role in submitting and managing bids
• Preparation revision and submission at all required stages through to award
• Creating a fully detailed tender based on a performance specification
• Production of estimates using estimating software
• Responsible for gathering data required in preparing estimate
• Send out enquiries and work closely with supply chain at tender stage to ensure correct and competitive prime costs. Producing any required schedules of materials where required
• Query bid documentation as may be required to clear up any ambiguities, errors and omissions in tender prior to tender closing - Producing a list of RFI's and submit to the client
• Liaise with clients to ascertain the exact requirements for estimates and understanding budget constraints
• Reading and understanding the scope of works and specification
• Read drawings to scale and compiling detailed schedules/take-off's
• Identify scope of value engineering/value creation and identify tender risk
• Populate client's tender documentation
• Arrange tender review meeting with senior management and agree sign off
• Attend client post-tender meetings
• Maintaining an up to date understanding of technical contractual and commercial developments (NEC3/4 and IChemE)
• Prepare information packages for handover to construction team
• Attend handover meeting and brief the team on the tender details
• Communicate with clients to follow up of submitted tenders
• Perform other duties as assigned
