Job summary

Hoare Lea seeks an Associate Director to lead high‑quality electrical engineering across multiple built‑environment projects from our Manchester office. You will drive delivery, commercial performance and external reputation of the electrical discipline, while guiding a team of engineers and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.

We value Chartered engineers with strong regulatory knowledge and a track record of delivering complex schemes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Chartered engineer status with demonstrable leadership in electrical design for complex projects.
• Extensive experience delivering high‑quality, technically demanding schemes in built environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to develop client relationships.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across disciplines and teams.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and wider industry engagement.
• Proven ability to lead multi-project delivery and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple large‑scale, technically complex electrical projects.
• Drive business development and secure future work with clients.
• Define client briefs and ensure delivery of high‑quality solutions.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing team; manage workload and objectives.
