Job summary

Frazer-Nash Consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Consultant to lead delivery on high-integrity projects across civil nuclear, defence, renewable energy and storage sectors.

You will work in a flexible hybrid pattern, with time split between client sites, offices and home, and you will mentor engineers while coordinating with regulators and project teams.

Qualifications

MEng in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Experience with high voltage electrical design and grid connection studies.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and quality processes.
Proven mentoring and development of electrical engineers.
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
Experience with DNO/National Grid or bulk power systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Deliver projects from concept through to acceptance with innovative solutions.
Lead HV AC/DC design, energy storage specifications and power systems studies.
Manage reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings.
Coordinate project teams to hit timelines and budgets.
Interface with clients, negotiate requirements and manage risks.

Senior Electrical Engineering Consultant

Salary range: £70,000 to £80,000 per annum

Location: Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester, or Burton

Working Pattern: Weoperatea flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer‑Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

The Role

Our Electrical Engineers undertake a range of projects across all sectors from civil nuclear sites and defence facilities to renewable energy and storage systems. The projects vary from small scoping and feasibility studies for modifications or upgrades to the design of complex process plants including nuclear power stations and COMAH sites.

Our work often has a safety‑critical element and interfaces with other teams within Frazer‑Nash to deliver a multi‑disciplinary service offering. Managing these interfaces and effective communication internally and to clients is an essential element of this role.

Delivery of innovation projects, taking new systems and technologies from concept through to acceptance.
High voltage AC and DC electrical power and distribution system design, including power system / grid connection studies.
Energy storage and power supply specification or design.
Managing the production, verification and approval of electrical reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings.
Specialist equipment support, for example: generators, transformers, switchgear, cables.
Managing a project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.
Client facing to develop requirements and negotiate contracts / agreements, and progress reporting and risk management.
